What Costumed is

Costumed is a small, independently run archive of film costume history, built and maintained by one person as a personal project. It isn't operated by a company, and there's no advertising or data-selling business behind it — the goal is simply to catalog and share notable costume design work.

Information you provide

When you submit a look through the "Add a Look" form, we collect whatever you choose to enter: film and character details, a description, an image link, and — optionally — a name to credit you by. The name field is entirely optional; there's no requirement to give your real name. Submissions are reviewed before anything is published, and if approved, the information you submitted (including any name you gave) becomes part of the public archive.

What we don't collect

We don't ask for your email address, don't require an account or password to browse or submit, and don't use tracking cookies, third-party analytics scripts, or advertising trackers. The only cookie this site sets is a login session cookie, and that's only created if someone logs into the private review page — visitors browsing or submitting a look never receive one.

Anonymous page views

We keep a simple, anonymous count of page visits — just the page and a timestamp — so we can see roughly how the archive is being used. No cookies are involved, no IP addresses are stored, and nothing in this count can be tied back to you individually.

Hosting and technical logs

Costumed runs on third-party hosting and database providers. Like virtually any website, those providers may automatically log standard technical information — such as IP addresses and request timestamps — for security and operational purposes. This is outside our direct control and isn't used by Costumed itself to track or profile visitors.

Removal requests

If you'd like a submission, a name credit, or any other information removed, email costumedarchive@outlook.com and we'll take care of it.

Children's privacy

Costumed isn't directed at children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

This page may be updated as the project grows. The version posted here is always the current one.
